Projected Structure for 2011

The Pyramid

  EAPL (12 teams)

  NA Prem (10)
  NA Div 1 (10)
  NA Div 2 (10)
WNCL Div 1 Champs >> NA Div 3 (8) << NCL Div 1 Champs
  NA Div 4 (10)
  NA Div 5 (10)
WNCL Div 1 (9) NA Div 6 (10) NCL Div 1 (9)
WNCL Div 2 (10)   NCL Div 2-7 (10)
WNCL Div 3 (9)   NCL Div 8 (9)
WNCL Div 4 (8)

A number of things will affect the way the League will look in 2011.
As part of a feeder structure (with the West Norfolk Cricket League) into the Norfolk Alliance, we expect our Div 1 champions to be promoted into NA Division 4. In return we expect teams to be relegated from NA Division 6. These teams will either be:

  1. one from each of the feeder Leagues (NCL & WNCL)
  2. two from one feeder, none from the other

So, our own promotion and relegation will depend on who comes down from the Alliance, and will also be affected by the EAPL Factor (see below).

Because we are the bottom of the feeder pyramid, it will always be the case that our final standings cannot be known until the higher Leagues have completed their re-shuffles.

EAPL Factor

Final decisions on promotion and relegation in the NCL may not be determined until well after the end of the normal season. This is because our final positions may be affected by what happens with the East Anglian Premier League, which stands at the top of the 'food chain'.

There are currently six Norfolk teams (shaded in green) in the EAPL and so there is a possibility that one of these will finish in 12th place and be replaced in the EAPL by a non-Norfolk team as a result of the play-offs. These will not be decided until mid-September.

Current assumptions:

  1. No relegation from EAPL to NA (Halsteqd clear in 12th)
  2. No relegation to NCL from NA (bottom 2 both WNCL))
  3. Winterton promoted to NCA Div 4
  4. Promotion is two-up and one-down for all divisions
  5. Bottom team apply for re-election
  6. One vacancy
