End of Season Tables
As part of the expanding service offered to cricketers and
followers of the Norfolk Cricket League, we have now brought
on-line the end-of-season tables from 1972 to date.
Although the NCL can trace its roots back to 1972, it was
known as the Norfolk Federation for the first 2 years. In
that time, it was an informal structure, with no preset fixtures.
The clubs involved could play whenever they chose, and points
were only scored in games between competing clubs. In 1972
there were 14, and this had grown to 20 in 1973. At the end
of that season, it was agreed to form the NCL, with 3 divisions,
with teams playing each other home and away, as is the case
today.
Many thanks to Barry Clemitson (Old Catton)
for tracing the final tables of the Federation in 1972-73.
