Monthly Awards ...

Player of Month (May) Michael Hall of Felthorpe CC (Division 4) wins the Player of the Month Award (his third in three years) for the staggering achievement of scoring unbeaten centuries in all of the first four games of the season, amassing a total of 483 runs. His scores in full were as follows: 119 not out (2nd May v Norwich Union A), 103 not out (9th May v Drayton A), 139 not out (16th May v Ashmanhaugh A), 122 not out (23 May v Norwich & Coltishall Wanderers B). His total run-haul could well have been higher for May if it wasn't for the fact that he wasn't required to bat in the match on 30th May, even though he bats at number three!
Other nominations ...
Darrin Colley, Old Catton A, Division 5: 14 wickets for only 92 runs in 53 overs (including 24 maidens) at 6.57; Lofty Lofthouse, Felthorpe, Division 4: 255 runs @ 63.75, highest of 116 (plus 3 catches & 3 stumpings as Wicket Keeper); Alex Chaney, Rollesby, Division 1: 200 runs @ 66.67, highest of 117 (plus 6 catches as Wicket Keeper)

Young Player (May) Louis Bellchamber of St Andrews CC is the first award winner of 2009 following on from winning the same award in August 2008. Now 18, Louis has had a remarkable month of batting in May racking up 365 runs at an average of 91.25 in Division 2 with a high score of 198 not out against Civil Service. In addition, Louis scored 97 against Norwich Union and 50 against Old Catton and has also helped steer his side to the top of their division. Such prolific run-scoring for one who is still classified as a young player is truly remarkable, and speaking of his achievement Louis said "I am very happy to receive this award and I would like to thank all of my team mates at St Andrews for their continued encouragement. If we continue to perform as we have done so far this season we will hopefully be looking at playing in Division 1 next year, and this is a very exciting prospect".
Player of Month (Jun) We could not decide between two candidates for the senior Player of the Month Award and have decided to make the award jointly to both of them. Paul Reeve and Troy Allan (Aldborough CC) Reeve, 1st Team captain, took 17 wickets in 3 matches in June at an average of 4.12 including 8-30 vs Great Yarmouth and 7-16 vs Rollesby. Allan scored a total of 347 in the same 3 matches at an average of 173.50 including scores of 149 vs Great Yarmouth and 155 no vs Rollesby. These terrific personal performances have helped Aldborough into what is rapidly becoming a three-horse race for the Division 1 title.

Charlie Mack, Aldborough 'A', Division 5: 13 wickets at 11.70 including 6-33 vs Old Buckenham;
